Widely regarded as fundamental to the birth of the Arte Povera movement and the international art scene, Michelangelo Pistoletto is going to exhibit his work for the first time in Greece in the forthcoming September, as the Festival's Visual Artist in Elaiourgio, in the city of Eleusina (Opening day: Saturday August 30th).
The following speakers are going to participate in the introductory discussion with the artist:
· Michelangelo Pistoletto
· Manuela Gandini, Italian art historian and curator
· Achille Bonito Oliva, Italian contemporary art critic, curator and professor of History of Contemporary Art at La Sapienza University
· Katerina Koskina, President of the Board of Trustees of the State Museum of Contemporary Art, art historian and curator
· Christos Papoulias, architect
The artist Katerina Zacharopoulou will be the coordinator of the discussion between the speakers, facilitated by a simultaneous interpreting between the two languages (Italian, Greek).
In the previous hour, at 11.30 a.m. until 12.30 p.m., a press conference will be given in the same area about the programme of the Aeschylean Festival with the participation of the creators of this year’s events.
